Aussie Store Guides is an independent editorial project publishing Shopify guides written specifically for merchants in Australia. Not translated American advice, not a re-skin of a global tutorial — every guide starts from the two things that break imported playbooks here: distance and tax.
That means costs are added up in Australian dollars with the date each figure was read on shopify.com; GST and ABN questions are treated as first-class topics and attributed to the Australian Taxation Office; refunds are framed by the Australian Consumer Law rather than a store owner’s wishful policy; and postage is priced against Australia Post’s and Sendle’s own published rates, because a parcel from Sydney to Broome is part of the business model, not a footnote.
The site earns a commission when a reader signs up to Shopify through one of its links — that is the only monetisation, it never changes what you pay, and it is disclosed before the first Shopify link in every monetised guide. Nobody here builds stores for a fee, sells app placements or accepts sponsored posts.
What this site is not: it is not operated by Shopify, it does not run shops of its own, and it is not an accountant or a law firm. Where a question needs a registered professional, the guide says so and points you to the ATO or your own agent.
This is an independent educational site. It is not operated by, affiliated with, or endorsed by Shopify Inc.
